To the people that put 1 dollar, or the amount of thousands you want for your car without the zeros, in for the asking price on your Cl Ad: Please stop, you are not helping anyone. In fact all you are doing is hurting yourselves. All You are attracting is people who can’t afford your car. Someone who has put in 2000 dollars as a max price will now see your 92 ‘Maro at an astounding price of just 10 dollars only to find that you are requesting 10,000 dollars in exchange for for your baby. Also you look like a fool, and every one hates you. Oh and to those who negate deciding on an asking price, and just go with “BEST OFFER”, you can just shove it. Actually here’s my best offer GO SHOVE IT UP YER BUTT!... and give me your car...
Also today I missed my chance at an 89 325i for 2000 dollars, by about 30 minutes. :(
I did meet the older fellow that bought it though, and he seemed excited and earnest in desire for an E30. I even offered to buy it from him for a few hundred more than he just paid for it, but he declined stating that he’s been looking for on awhile now. So even though I lost out I’m glad it went to a fellow enthusiast, and will most likely be restored, and taken much better care of than I would have given it. ei. He will probably not be playing rally driver on back roads with it. The car did have some rust, and significant hail damage but he seemed to have the means to fix those minor issues, again unlike me. (actual car not pictured).

Fuckin’ A. I hate that too. I put a $200 minimum price when I search for beaters, that filters out most of them.

Oh thanks fixed up top too. I’m bad at typing, and almost as bad at checking for typos. I tend to just see what I think is there.

Easy when shopping in Northern California. The real lemons reside below $2000.

Whenever someone posts a “$1 car” I want to go up to the owner and say “I’ll take you up on that offer” and give them a dollar for their car.

Yes. Every now and then I browse CL for 50s-60s cars under $5,000. You know, the undesirables that are cheap despite being in DD-worthy shape. I hate having to filter through those cars with the fake prices.

Flag it, then send an email to abuse@craigslist.org and include links to some of the ads and an explanation of the $1 price

around here I see ads from dealers selling used cars, they put the cost of financing per month as the sale price.
Go. Fuck. Yourselves.

O my god yes.
“Oh so I can have this 2009 Fuckass sedan for just $189 on approved credit with any trade-in newer than 2005? what are the payments, like 1.25/month?

Yes,Yes, YES! I hate that. Another pet peeve, is keyword spamming. So, Example, say I was searching for a Jeep. Some guy selling a Chevy Blazer will have a big long string of off road vehicles listed at the bottom of his ad. I always flag them as spam. His spam pretty much ruins the search feature.
” Jeep, Ford Bronco, Hummer, GMC Yukon, M35, Mars Rover, Dodge Dakota, BMW X5, space shuttle, Imperial Walker, Dune buggy, Toyota Land Cruiser, Subaru forester.”

THIS PISSES ME OFF SOOO MUCH! I starred your post, then unstarred just so I could click that beautiful little star again!
But for real its annoying, I usually just put a minimum of 100 or something like that but then I feel like I might miss some diamond in the rough that didn’t put any price but is somehow a perfect combo of cheap, cheerful, manual, and rwd

I know right! I’ve been doing the same thing lately, but not selecting any filters just in case some one accidentally hit Automatic, or thinks their 85 Celica Supra is a FWD. It requires much more patience.

That is a PITA dealerships are the worst when it comes to that. There is one in particular that will always mention in the ad, or even in the title that their 2006 Jetta GLI is better than a Civic Si, Mazda3 Mazdaspeed3, 323i, 325i, S40, A4...and so on
